Information:
The definitive series depicting Khyber Pass and Shalimar Garden, was twice produced during 1961-1962. But the postal authorities were not satisfied with the shape of Bengali inscription denoting Pakistan. The inscription was redrawn in new style and all paisa values were printed with Pakistan in Bengali accordingly altered. Distinction of the new font is a straight line over all the letters resembling Pakistan which also connects the letters with each other. These stamps remained in use till 1970's.

The Shalimar Gardens, sometimes written as the Shalamar Gardens, is a Persian garden built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in Lahore, modern day Pakistan. The construction began in 1641 and was completed in 1642. The project management was carried out under the superintendence of Khalilullah Khan, a noble of Shah Jahan's court, in cooperation with Ali Mardan Khan and Mulla Alaul Maulk Tuni. The Shalimar Gardens are located near Baghbanpura along the Grand Trunk Road some 5 kilometers northeast of the main Lahore city.
